Historique

The mission of the Buildings and security division is to provide technical oversight of security and safety installations for people, library buildings and the collections.

The staff of Buildings and security act to oversee all work being done on library buildings and ensure the upkeep of the library premises by the cleaning staff. They are also in daily contact with the staff of the library’s other departments to ensure continuous evaluation of building climate control and the proper conditions for conserving the library’s collections. Buildings and security also plays an active part in a number of other areas, setting up emergency plans for the collections, the BERCE PBC  project, moving collections, and space management of the library storage areas.
